Polareis
Ritausma, R. rugosa 'Polareis'With its large, loosely filled, fragrant flowers, 'Polaris' is an eye-catcher in the garden. The flowers are blush pink to white and are in large clusters. They rebloom well and form a low bushy shrub with annual short pruning. With little pruning it becomes a large wide shrub. Highly recommended!

The large, loosely filled flowers of 'Polaris' are fragrant and enchanting with their play of colours. When they open, they are still light pink but quickly turn blush white to almost white. They are in clusters of 7 to 15 flowers, are good repeat bloomers and are an eye-catcher. The leaves are typical for rugosas with deeply marked veins and are very disease resistant. It originates from Latvia and is very winter hardy. The height is determined by pruning. With annual short pruning it remains a compact bushy low shrub of 100 to 120 cm, with little pruning this shrub can grow to 200 cm high and wide. A maintenance-friendly strong plant. Ideal as a solitary, in a hedge or group.
