Extended description

The dark, blackish red flowers of this species are medium sized, full and lightly scented. This variety is classified as a tea hybrid but looks more like a spray rose. It is also called the 'Black Rose of Sangerhausen' because it was discovered there during an exhibition. Sensitive to blackspot but this rose remains popular because of its extremely dark color. In hot weather the flowers can burn so, if possible, plant this rose in a place protected from the warm midday sun.
