F. Mertens, editor-in-chief of Rosa Belgica, researched Parmentier's roses and attributed this rose 'Desirée Parmentier' as one of Louis Parmentier's roses, dedicated to his wife.
The upright shrub has medium green leaves and prickles.
The large cup-shaped flowers are very filled with at least 150 small petals. They have a vibrant dark pink colour and a nice scent.
