Valuable modern rose that, due to its relationship with the eglantine, Rosa rubiginosa, is one of the few roses that has a fragrant leaf, the scent of the green apple.
We noticed the rose bush in a garden in Denmark where it is planted as a hedge.
The large flowers appear from small oval flower buds and are pink to dark pink with sometimes darker spots or stripes. They have 10 to 15 petals and are therefore classified between single and semi-double flowers. The flowers have a fruity scent. They appear en masse in June and July and rebloom from September to November.
A special plant with the combination of rubiginosa scented leaves, strongly scented flowers and repeat flowering.
The plant grows upright, bushy, wide and grows tall but can easily be pruned to keep it more compact. The leaves are medium green and leathery.
