This Wichuraiana climber is a valued constant that flowers overwhelmingly every year in June-July. ‘American Pillar' is then covered with bunches of enchanting, single flowers of a carmine pink colour. The centre of the flowers is white around the yellow stamens, which gives the flowers an extra liveliness. They're lightly scented. After flowering, a waterfall of red rose hips appears in autumn. This rose is very vigorous and produces many long, supple branches that develop easily from the base. The leaves are light green and shiny, the young buds have a brown tint. Sensitive to powdery mildew after flowering, therefore a spot in the wind is recommended.
