‘Alchymist' has impressively large, quartered flowers of an exceptional colour: yellow- orange with a pink shine. They have the strong smell of tea roses. Flowering time is early: the end of May, but very long.

Extended description

A variety that, like an alchemist, changes the colour of the flowers into gold. The most important characteristic of this species is its exceptional and changing colour: the petals are usually pink on the inside and yellow on the outside, which gives the whole an apricot orange tint. The colour also differs depending on the climate. As they age, the yellow of the petals becomes lighter and the pink of the petals darker. The flowers are very full, quartered and bowl-shaped at the beginning. They evolve into a flat flower with curved petals. They have a strong smell of tea roses. The flowers grow in clusters of 3 to 7 at the end of the long, large branches. Flowering starts in May but lasts a very long time.
